Healing is not linear
Healing is not linear. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all way of healing. Each journey is different, and because of that, each journey requires a different approach.
It’s not always straight. Or tidy. And it doesn’t always happen in a clean sequence.
Sometimes we move toward acceptance and find ourselves uncomfortable again. Sometimes we experience peace and later realize there is still something that needs our attention. Growth does not always mean we never revisit old pain. Sometimes growth is simply recognizing that we are meeting that pain differently than we did before.

Healing asks us to become intentional about what we carry, what we release, what we learn, and who we are becoming along the way.
There may not be one clear path through it. There may be turns, pauses, setbacks, and moments when we feel like we are circling familiar ground. But familiar ground does not always mean we have gone backward.
Healing is not linear, but it is leading you somewhere.
Message to the Reader: Familiar ground does not always mean we have gone backward. Sometimes life brings us back to places, feelings, or lessons we thought we had already moved beyond—not because we failed to grow, but because growth often asks us to revisit things from a different version of ourselves.
The difference is that we are not standing there as the same person we were before. We may have more awareness, stronger boundaries, different questions, or a deeper understanding of what we need. Returning to something familiar can feel discouraging, but sometimes it is simply an opportunity to recognize just how much has changed within us.
